Park Forest Elementary Chosen as Green Ribbon School

In April, Park Forest Elementary School was one of 47 schools nationwide to be named a Green Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education. The criteria for selection are adherence to these pillars: reduced environmental impact and cost, improved health and wellness, and effective environmental sustainability education. PFE’s nomination stated that it “provides the building blocks for teaching and learning the basic tenets that support life and ensure a sustainable environment for generations to come.” Read more about the award and PFE’s nomination here.
