New school year, new opportunities
When the Education Foundation set up the Student Opportunity Fund, which was later named in memory of district educator and alumna Mardi Lowry McDonough ’87, the goal was to provide resources directly to teachers, coaches and administrators. Why? Because they are closest to students every day, seeing firsthand how their experiences could be improved or enhanced.
Funds from the grant program empower our educators and ultimately, our students, to make the most of their education, from kindergarten through graduation. Whether funds provide advanced lab equipment or sensory supplies, musical instruments or books, career development or hands-on learning experiences, field trips or personal care items, it is no exaggeration to say that when you contribute to this fund, you impact every student.
Right now, the application portal is open for educators at every school in the district to seek support for their ideas and projects. Making them a reality is up to you.
The number of applications the Education Foundation receives is growing every year. Will you match your generosity with important priorities in our schools? With your support, goals that may have been put aside are now within reach.
