The Maroon and Gray Society is a permanent mark of distinction for those who made an extraordinary impact on the school district community, and we need your help to select our inaugural class of inductees!

Eligibility Guidelines

 

Individuals: The SCASD Education Foundation Maroon and Gray Society recognizes select individuals of exemplary character who are graduates and/or retired staff of the State College Area School District or a contributing member of the SCASD Community (non-alumnus). The foundation seeks nominations for alumni who have made significant contributions to their profession, their community, or society in general and who have been graduated at least 10 years. The Foundation also requests nominations of retired staff members or community members who have contributed significantly to the school community, have been advocates for, or have brought distinction to the school.

Team/Group: An athletic team or district group (e.g. DECA, Band, academic club) that had a significant impact on the community, or made noteworthy accomplishments while at State High.

There will be 6-8 individual inductees (plus one athletic team or school group) selected each year from the following recommended categories. 

  • Academic/Career/General
  • Athletics
  • Community Member (non-Alumnus)
  • Emerging Professional (graduated less than 10 years)
  • Military Member (active, retired, or deceased)
  • Performing Arts - Music, Theatre, Art
  • Teacher/Coach (Must be retired and could be non-alumnus)
